For our first discussion board that counts towards participation, let's focus on something topical to think and respond to. Google's thought leadership board (which I encourage you to sign-up for b/c there are some great learning resources) had a post about companies responding to the environment we found ourselves in with the pandemic. The post calls out some of the common business problems and what the author viewed as companies that provided a strong response and point of view to solve very real social and business problems. These are samples of when marketing - among other business functions- come together quite quickly to respond. Here are the 3 main questions I want to hear from you on:'
1. Which - if any- of these succeeded in addressing the business, customer, and societal problem? If so, why and how? If not, what did you think they were wrong about? And do you have another example of a company that did this same thing but better? Why?
2. What types of job roles do you think contributed to these? I guarantee you it wasn't just one type of marketer that came up with these ideas. It could have been operations or public relations as well. Or maybe a budget manager or media planner.
3. In reading this and watching the ads, what does this make you think of with marketing or having a career in marketing during a pandemic and recession? If you are not looking for a career in marketing, tell us what you think about how a career in what interests you could look like post-pandemic and recession.

In order to adapt to the new normal and continue promoting their products, many companies developed meaningful approaches to give clients a reason human will survive the pandemic.
One of the companies that responded positively to the outbreak is Cottonelle, a toilet paper manufacturing company, responded by addressing customer concerns.
