He provides charitable services through his foundation to help the needy people in the society. The execution of the servant leadership strategy by Bill Gates has boosted the success of the foundation (Heim, 2014).
The implementation of the principles of servant leadership
Bill Gates has sacrificed to help solve global problems instead of focusing on his Microsoft venture. Bill and Melinda Foundation raise funds to mitigate enormous challenges faced by people in different continents. These challenges include poverty, poor health and ignorance which are major problems bedeviling the developing countries. The health services have improved since the foundation began its operation. In addition, it has provided emergency relief services and assisted the developing countries to develop their agricultural sector (Heim, 2014).
Moreover, he has assisted countries acquire computers and the internet services. These services have assisted in connecting communities across the globe. Bill Gates has therefore demonstrated principles of a true servant leader by showing empathy, awareness and healing others (Jegill, 2016).
Furthermore, the organization involves the employees in the decision making process, thus building a community and teamwork in the organization. The managers listen keenly to their work opinions and grievances and solve them accordingly. The managers persuade their employees and convince them to work rather than applying authoritarian rule. Bill Gates conceptualizes on great visions to improve people’s welfare and solve economic challenges facing them. In addition, the organization values its employees and protects their rights. It provides healing to the employees with physical trauma or emotional stress (Heim, 2014).
The organization is also committed to the growth of its works and provides regular training to the newly hired employees and those employed to improve their skills and performance. It is also committed toward ensuring the welfare of workers is considered in the workplace (Heim, 2014).
