Nuclear deterrence is the main priority for the United States military to enhance combat readiness. Its five-year plan includes recapitalization of its army by replacing old combat gear with modernized equipment. The main objective for this is to increase the country's readiness and capabilities of deescalating conflict. The political atmosphere in the 21st century is complex; therefore, a threshold needs to be maintained by all nations. Along with extreme forms of conflict resolutions, the United States is committed to pursuing peaceful means. Alliances and treaties are the main avenues where the U.S. and other nations share their visions for a peaceful future. As such, the U.S. is open to new allies and opportunities for collaboration.
The cost of maintaining and improving nuclear deterrence is exorbitant. However, other nations have started gaining ground on the modernization of their military. Therefore, the United States needs to keep up to maintain its advantage in nuclear weaponry. Modernization of the U.S. military is crucial as more effort is required to win the fight against terrorism and maintain global peace. Failure to keep up with other nations might turn the tide and offer an advantage to countries that might not hold similar peace sentiments.

This formal report focuses on the power of nuclear deterrence of the United States, consequently assessing its objectives and cost of the program.

The U.S. is committed to ensuring the president and diplomats go about international relations from a power position. It helps adversaries refrain from making miscalculations about their limits based on their judgment of what the U.S. can do in response.
