Introduction
The primary goal of all business organizations is to make profits. In order to realize this goal, there are various strategic measures that must be put in place. Working together as team and synchronizing the functions is one of the most practical ways of achieving set goals. This is done with the realization that companies can take advantage of the various backgrounds and perspectives of employees so that their combined effort will help the company effectively achieve set goals (Nankervis, 2014). Although there are various departments within an organization all of which perform different and divergent tasks, they are organized in such a manner that they work towards a common goal. This paper has focused on the two sides of cross-functional decision making, the pros and cons.
Multiple Inclusion
This is one of the importance of cross-functional teams whereby people with multiple skills and abilities are included. It is true that the end goal for each business is to make profits through large volumes of sales. However, for sales people to effectively carry put their duties, they require support for other departments within the organization. It is this diversity that allow members of the team to share skills and ideas thereby effectively achieving the target (Kumar, 2010).
Shared Goals
When members of an organization share the same goal, there is tendency and likelihood to work together to achieve the goal. Often, when people within an organization work separately, although they have a common goal, people will less likely combine their efforts.
