Connection to Economics and Assessment of "They Overcame Mutual Loathing and Saved a Town"

Essay Instructions:

I need an article reflection about a non-academic article. Here's what I'm required to do:
1. What is the central message (brief description /summary/) of the video(s) / article (s)? Please avoid retelling. A good place to start is to explore which variables are related in this article. Remember the related articles are frequently called dependent variable(s)and independent variable(s).
2.How are these articles/videos connected to concepts/ frameworks in economics?–It is not sufficient to say that this article is an application of the concept of “opportunity cost”; you have to convince the reader to explain why this article is an application of “opportunity cost”.
3.Do you agree or disagree with the central message of the video(s)/article(s)that you are reading/watching for this article reflection? What do you agree with and what do you disagree with? Critically assess the reading/video using the lens of economic concepts or economic framework. This is where you need to be persuasive. You can use data, numbers, tables, graphs from other sources. You can also research online and find out what happened after the incident/story that is reported in this article/video. These sources need to be cited. Again, it is not enough to say this article relates to demand and supply. You have to convince the reader why this article relates to this particular framework.
4.What are the possible implications of the “policy” mentioned in the article? Do you have unanswered questions regarding these policies? This is the deep and thought-provoking part of the reflection.
The economic concepts mentioned in no.2 doesn't have to be really deep or complicated, as long as it's explained nicely and thoroughly.
No format required, I'll attach a sample.

Article Reflection: They Overcame Mutual Loathing, and Saved a Town
Summary
Nicholas Kristof unmasked the development behind the mutual coexistence between the loggers and the environmentalists, who were initially fierce antagonists but once they appreciated each other points of view, they were able to come up with a lasting solution that is bearable for both parties. From the loggers' standpoint, logging is the major source of livelihood for most inhabitants in Eastern Oregon, and environmentalists like Susan Jane Brown were determined to bring logging to a standstill by pushing for policy regulation to protect some wood species from the aggressive loggers. The closure of the sawmill and the plunging of the logging industry in the past had had a damning cost to human lives that Jane Brown had not factored in. The demonstration from a delegation of woodsmen to Brown made her change her perspective about logging. The moral of the article by Kristoff is that in every encounter, there are two sides to it, and collaboration rather than disintegration is of the essence in forging an amicable solution to problems.
Connection to Economics
The article might give the impression that the main theme is the preservation of the environment. However, from an economic standpoint, the article exposes the role that strict policies with insufficient findings on the overall outcomes could have on unemployment. The halt on wood logging that was instigated by Brown rendered many inhabitants of Oregon unable to find jobs that were well-paying, given fact that wood logging was the main economic activity in the region (Kristof, 2021). The supply of wood logs had greatly subsided, leading to the closure of sawmills, further rendering people jobless and losi...
