A perfect opportunity for Tesla is its new lower priced model (Sull & Reavis, 2019). Tesla just unveiled its least expensive model, which could help the company tap into the lower income consumer market. There is a threat, however, for Tesla as the company fails to match major competitors such as Ford, Toyota, and General Motors in the marketplace (Alghalith, 2018).
Tesla’s main strength is that it is the best electric car. Unlike other electric car companies, Tesla’s cars are innovative, well-designed, and also have the best range (Alghalith, 2018). Using the VRIN framework, it is clear that Tesla’s main strength provides the company with a competitive advantage.
