Water shortage is a global problem that is worsening with each passing day. Climate change constantly accelerates global water shortages, mainly due to melting glaciers and rainfall variability. For example, global warming is causing a constant melting of Himalayan glaciers, thus undermining the sustainability of millions of people relying on such ecosystems for water. Water scarcity is an intensifying problem threatening the sustainable development of communities globally. The situation is undermining the capacity of communities to meet their water needs, mainly due to insufficient supplies and inadequate infrastructural investments in addressing water shortages. Governments should design more innovative and collaborative ways to address climate change, which augments the water crisis.
