Choose 2 songs from the playlist, comprised of Parts 1-3.
Part 1
Building upon the listening skills you've developed, clear your mind, relax, focus, and play each record for yourself. Make notes and answer the questions found earlier in this lesson. Include the following in your comprehensive analysis:
The artist, song title, and genre.
Your detailed emotional responses.
An analysis of your perception of the artist's identity, vision, and intention as related to this record.
An analysis of the lyric, the specific images it created in your mind, and how the lyric related to the emotions conveyed.

An analysis of the use of repetition, and how it contributed to the emotion of the record.
An analysis of the groove, and its contribution to the record's emotional impact.

Analyze the symbiotic relationship of sounds playing simultaneously and their emotional byproducts (frequency, spatial and dynamic "footprint" considerations).
Analyze the mix in terms of focus, focal point, vocal placement, the placement of elements in the stereo field, and the balance of the high end, midrange, and low end.
Part 2
Evaluating Emotional Responses of Two Test Subjects.
Follow a similar procedure with these records, and complete the following.
Once the record is done, ask one volunteer the following questions and make notes about their responses.

How do you feel your musical tastes contributed to your emotional response to this record?
What aspects of the record stood out the most to you?
Include the following in your write-up:

Name, approximate age, occupation, and relationship to you (if any) of your test subject(s).
Your subject's stated and self-notated responses to the questions provided.
Your speculations as to how your subject's preconceived opinions, tastes, and prejudices about music may or may not have contributed to their responses.
Part 3
Create a timeline for each of the records. As you did that lesson, include notes about the instrumental arrangement in the "arrangement notes" section, distilled from your comprehensive analysis.
