The key messages presented by the authors are that the internet has made massive impact on many professions and promoted wide accessibility of knowledge not just to the elites but also amongst common people in a society. The authors’ also points out that even though the internet has created impact on many professions it is driving the subsequent examination of professional identity concept, expertise related crimes and integrity standards. In addition, the authors communicate that many people are masquerading as professionals via the internet therefore causing harm to unwary victims who depend on declarations of professional expertise.
