Research Problem
In ABC Company (my workplace), specializing in software development, the employees were provided remote work arrangements while navigating the COVID-19-induced restrictions. The employees are still working from home even though the pandemic is over and normalcy is returning. The human resource manager, in association with team leaders, is tasked to consider the prospect of continuing with remote work arrangements or returning to pre-pandemic on-site work arrangements. The theoretical foundations and limited background research suggest that remote work arrangement serves as a dual-edged sword. On the upside, the flexibility and the work-and-life balance associated with such flexibility are found to be associated with enhanced job satisfaction, commitment, and productivity, which ultimately contributes to organizational performance (Hunter, 2018; Ferreira et al., 2021).
