1 From the first section in the book what are 5 environmental concerns you will learn about in this class? Question worth 5 points.
a. Climate Change (Adam Deo Hegstad Salata Spaulding, 2022).
b. Water Quality and Quantity.
c. Biomes and Ecosystems
d. Population Growth and the Environment
e. Biodiversity Loss
2 Every field is impacted by the environment, be it being the source or a product, source of a service, a concern to meet an environmental regulation…. How do you feel learning about the environment will impact your future career? (minimum of 50 words; question worth 5 points)
Learning about environmental sustainability can help balance human activities to preserve living organisms that reduce biodegradation. Also, the discovery of green chemicals through academic institutions can provide solutions to minimizing industrial waste standards where companies monitor biodegradable products for environmental sustainability. Likewise, social activism requires community involvement to tackle chemical pollution from domestic and industrial waste (Adam Deo Hegstad Salata Spaulding, 2022).

3 Everything is made from chemicals. In blogs or news articles, you might hear about chemicals being a concern, but this is too vague. For example, you can say water is a problem because it is a chemical, but this is still not saying why. Find an example of a chemical you want to learn about. Question worth 5 points
1 What is this chemical made from?
Carbon Monoxide is a gas produced from heating equipment, usually heaters, grills, and wooden stoves.
2 How can it be helpful?
It is used in fire extinguishers to fight fire. Carbon monoxide also helps in the packaging of fresh products like beef or fish meat.
3 What it is likely to pollute (air, water, or land)?
The chemical pollutes the air and causes problems when breathing when a person is exposed.
4 How can the problem be lessened?
Avoiding the use of gas equipment for lighting or heating in confined areas can lessen pollution. The installation of an exhaust vent can reduce the saturation of carbon monoxide to prevent harmful ingestion when it exceeds safety levels (US Environmental Protection Agency and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, 2023).
5 Provide a full reference for your authoritative source you used to answer this question
