Due process procedures definition
A process requirement from the state that allows dispute resolution between parents of disabled children and public education agencies. In the state of Arizona, a due process complaint should be filed within an appropriate period of two years of the alleged action except for parents' misrepresentations from the school (Connolly et al., 2019). The complaint has characteristics such as
1 Content and Sufficiency. The complaint must meet the requirements of the child such as the name, address, child school, contact information for homeless children and the school they attend, problem description, and a proposed resolution Arizona Department of Education, 2023).
2 Amendment in case the other party consents in writing or a hearing officer orders within five days before the hearing.
3 Resolution session where the parties meet within fifteen days after the complaint is filed meet and try resolving the matter without a hearing.
