EPA is an agency that was founded in the year 1997 under the Environment Protection Act (EPA). The Act has subsequently been subdivided into several bodies within which Clean Air Act is embedded. The statutory authority of EPA revolves around ensuring adherence to the Act laws and regulations. Administering the Act is the role of EPA in its legislative position. The agency is responsible for ensuring that companies involved in the emission of air pollutants do not violate the regulations of the Act. The legislative role of EPA in the process of satisfying the objectives stipulated in the Act includes general environmental protection against pollution and factors that lead to environmental vulnerability to climate change and global warming. EPA also is tasked with making sure that all the decisions that are made towards environment protection entail and follows principles of ecologically sustainable development. Under its legal position, EPA regulates practices of environmental protection by ensuring that there is an integrated environmental regulatory framework.
There are several ways in which the agency meets its objectives and enforce regulations. One of the methods of achieving the goals is through permitting, environmental authorizations to the relevant authorities; businesses and companies so as to adhere to the environment protection rules stipulated in the Act.
