Despite being a very wealthy nation, our country has numerous people who lack financial resources and many with no place to live. Even with several government-funded programs, homelessness currently does not seem to be a problem that is high on the national agenda. Thinking about everything that you learned in your textbook and class, in a well-crafted essay, explain why we fail to help and why certain beliefs about the homeless might contribute to people’s unwillingness to address this problem. What type of information about the homeless might make people more willing to donate money to this cause? What can we do as a nation that could help combat homelessness (again any policy will need to address what we know about human behavior, helping, and receiving help)? What examples can we look at (either from the US or other countries) for how to fix the homelessness problem and provide help? Why do you think they may or may not work here in America? Please note that I do not give page ranges for the assignment – some people write concisely, and others do not. The assignment is completed when you have answered the questions in depth. As with all homework assignments in this class, collaboration and plagiarism is not acceptable or tolerated. If you need help, please see the TF or myself during office hours

The debate creates a stereotype that such individuals find themselves in deplorable situations because of their poor mindset and laziness rather than other factors beyond their control. As a result, this stereotype discourages the public from demanding policy changes or directly assisting in addressing the situation through donations because they believe such individuals can elevate themselves from their suffering if they desire to live a better life.
A change in framing public discussions by the mainstream and social media platforms can challenge diverse stakeholders to demonstrate their interest in contributing to ending homelessness in the nation. One of the leading changes would be providing accurate information about the issue to provide a deep public awareness that it comprises more than a lack of shelter. People should recognize that homelessness constitutes a lack of safety and security. It also relates to other social problems like mental health challenges and the breakdown of social systems. Emphasizing that financial and structural systems beyond the control of these victims influence the rising homelessness would also encourage people to donate to the cause because they would understand the importance of external support in assisting the affected populations in rejuvenating their lives.
The nation must embrace collaboration to end homelessness because this problem persists despite the existence of federally and state-funded programs. According to Matthews, diverse stakeholders should concert their efforts to address this issue with the...
