Observation
In the book, The Tao of Wu, the author takes an examination of his life especially the journey towards realization. The narration is about a black young man who is struggling to find more about himself in the American society. One of the incidences that I found interesting is the way the young man is struggling when his life is in danger. In page 77, the author narrates about an incident where he was carrying out his work as the MC. All of a sudden, one of the young men in the audience got his gun out and started threatening them. The author and his few friends were the only black people in the audience. He replied back jokingly as his Islam friend Asaham went to talk over to some girls. Later, the author informs us that they were attacked by a Spanish friend. The short story narration by the author gives a perspective on the different challenges that the black Americans face in America. Most of them are attacked on a regular basis and they have nothing to do. In different instances where the author has taken their time to narrate about how they were attacked. He often mentions that they run away meaning there was no way they would be helped.
