Issues and Opportunities Report
Recall from the syllabus, that your parkscape video story should describe:
The ecological basis for conservation in the parkscape (e.g., ecosystem service);
The social issues (e.g., justice, land ownership) surrounding parkscape management and how they have changed over time;
2 key drivers of ecological change in the contemporary parkscape (e.g., climate change, land use, invasive species);
2 opportunities for sustainability in parkscape management (realized or envisioned).
In this report, you will describe the research you have done in each of these areas. In a 1-page report, single-spaced, Times New Roman, 12 point font, 1 inch margins), you will describe these four elements to the extent you and your group have researched them. It might be easiest to have a separate paragraph for each of the four topics.
Cite your sources in text where they are referenced in the format: (Author, Year). You must cite at least 6 different sources. On a second page, include a reference list! 4 points Social issues surrounding parkscape management described (including issues related to change through time and the relationship between local, national, and international policy as relevant to the parkscape)
4 points At least 2 drivers of ecological change are described
4 points At least 2 opportunities for sustainability (as practiced now, or as proposed/recommended) are described
4 points At least 6 sources are listed and cited appropriately, according to a single citation style (see link above). For this report, it does not matter which style you use, as long as it is consistent.
