Early Jazz development in New Orleans
The band leader Charles Buddy Bolden closely associated himself with the early development of early Jazz in New Orleans (Schuller and Morrison 123). The charisma and musical power of the bandleader made Jazz development faster and easier. Bolden formed his music band in 1895 after playing briefly with Charley Galloway’s string band. Few years after band formation, he built a loyal following where he entertained people throughout the city. However, in 1906 the Jazz leader collapsed while performing in a street parade. With a few developments made by Bolden, it is difficult to ascertain the truth about early Jazz development in New Orleans.
