Dealing with security breaches often turns out to be a stressful event and all the steps taken after a security breach are vital in providing solutions to the issue and safeguarding private information. The first thing I would do is to get to the cause of the breach, which may be caused by hacking or an employee who may be careless. Secondly, I would gather a team to handle the issue by letting the department be aware there is a breach. The personnel will come up with the proper action plan to resolve the issue. After that, I would tell other employees and customers about the violation. I would also respond to customer and employee issues (Lord, 2015). The security breach may be public resulting in a compromise of business operations, therefore, it should be shut down in an orderly way without causing anxiety (Vacca, 2012).

A business continuity plan forms an important component of a company’s response plan, indicating how business operations are expected to continue after an incident in the shortest time possible.
