The social problems in learning institutions are when teachers fail to treat students from different cultures equally and when their classmates discriminate against them. The students from different cultural origins might find it challenging to blend in with the new culture. In such a case, the teacher should understand and appreciate other students' cultures to ensure they treat them equally as the other students. However, such does not always happen, exposing the students to discrimination. If students feel discriminated against, they will find it challenging to interact accordingly in the classroom environment (Goodwin, Chen & Long, 2021). In turn, this could negatively affect their classroom performance.

Problems in social institutions have played a major role in perpetuating the issue of cultural discrimination in educational institutions. Cultural discrimination is highly witnessed in social environments, encouraging people to express it in other institutions. An example of a commonplace where discrimination is highly expressed is social media platforms. These platforms have people from different cultures across the world. These people have assumptions about other cultures, and such assumptions facilitate discrimination (Goodwin, Chen & Long, 2021). The assumptions have become common stereotypes expressed towards particular people while in different institutions. Such explains why people find it normal to discriminate against others in educational institutions. The people that express such discrimination are from societies that have normalized the discrimination.
