Over the years, mental health has gained huge popularity. The main reason is mental health conditions have been one of the leading causes of death worldwide. Even though mental health conditions are a global issue, it affects different countries differently. For example, after having the interview, the interviewee gave various mental health perceptions and treatments regarding mental health in their country. Varying from the U.S., mental health conditions were low in Nigeria since this was a more collectivist nation. Therefore, the individuals had communal relationships, which helped them have group cohesion and a strong interconnection with their family members.
