A scientific method was used to identify and solve lead water poisoning in Flint, Michigan. Rick Snyder appointed an emergency manager in 2014 who switched the water source to Flint River to save money. However, the manager did not check whether the new water supply used corrosion-control additives to eliminate iron, rust, and other dangerous materials from the lead aging pipes (Bernstein & Dennis, 2016). As such, a scientific method was used to test the lead percentages in children's blood, which revealed that the number of young people with lead poisoning had doubled after the water source switch. Besides, a scientific method was used to determine the level of contamination of the pipe water in Flint and showed that many children had high percentages of lead in their blood.
