My interest in the selected topic is driven by the need to understand the clinical manifestations and interventions for schizotypal personality disorder (SPD). The condition manifests in terms of a persistent behavior pattern that interferes with the individual’s ability to have a normal life or participate in specific activities. It is important to learn about the condition’s clinical manifestations in order to gain insights vital to establishing a feasible intervention to augment the patient’s health outcomes, including metacognitive interpersonal therapy and metacognitive reflection and insight therapy (Cheli et al., 2023).
The study is significant because it recognizes that SPD involves a pervasive trend of maladaptive behavioral tendencies that are linked to schizophrenia liability. There are significant research gaps regarding the most feasible psychosocial interventions for SPD patients.
