Fight, Flight or Freeze
The following is an example of a time I experienced the fight, flight or freeze response/ mode. There was a time when I was walking along a bushy path at dusk. It was quiet, and the path was deserted. Suddenly, I heard a loud sound of what sounded like the roaring of a lion. My body suddenly went into flight mode. I was overwhelmed with a great desire to escape. Since the sound came from behind, I ran forward as fast as I could. Later, I learned that the area had a private farm that keeps lions and other wild species.
