General Discussion Instructions
Your total response should be at least 150-250 words. Your explanations should be complete, clear, concise, thorough, and supported by cited information from a class learning resource, and follow APA style with your in-text citation and reference.
Show evidence of thoroughly reading and listening to the course resources. This is preferable to outside research. But if you provide additional resources, they will be graded on their scholarly credibility; that means sources of questionable truth may result in a lower grade on the post and sources of good credibility may result in a higher grade.

Question One
Various indicators show that a child has developed a sense of self. One is clear self-recognition, mostly during the second year (Lally & Valentine-French, 2017). Self-recognition at this age can be noticed through a mirror test where the child recognizes their reflection. Another indicator showing a child has developed a sense of self is having a self-concept. Lally and Valentine-French (2017) demonstrate that the child can describe themselves and is aware of their internal and external qualities.
Question Two
From toddlerhood through early childhood, the sense of self changes significantly. The change can be seen through improved awareness of self, where the toddler understands who they are, their name, gender, and unique physical qualities (Lally & Valentine-French, 2017). The change can also be seen through an elaborate and emerging self-concept, where the child starts to note the differences between them and the world.
