I reached out to Marlise Henry and received an impressive response. I would like to recommend her for the job of practice manager. Efforts to reach Mariah Gregor proved futile because she was on vacation. I previously collaborated with Marlise at Princeton Eye and Ear and was impressed by her outstanding customer service and teamwork competencies. In addition to my positive experiences training and supervising Marlise at the facility, her response indicated that she understood every touchpoint as an avenue to impact customer or patient experience. Marlise demonstrated the need to change the workplace culture of one-off transactions to emphasize the need to establish long-term customer relationships. She was not afraid of the change and thus has the potential to influence practice in different ways positively. Overall, her vast knowledge in medical practice makes her qualified for the position because her professionalism and meticulous attention to detail mean she can plan for the future financially and understand metrics and the organization and its referral patterns of practices within the area.
The professional characterizations accurately reflect how I view myself as a professional. I have great customer service and critical thinking skills that can effectively inform the practice manager's recommendation. I believe that a proctor and manager in a healthcare context should demonstrate the ability to understand metrics (what to do with them and what they mean), financially plan for the future, and understand the organization. Great communication skills, attention to detail, and consistently demonstrating professionalism are key to achieving the abovementioned abilities. I might be the most skilled and knowledgeable provider, but gaining recognition for offering quality care without giving patients a positive experience is nearly infeasible. The most important skill for a practice manager is maintaining positive customer relationships and paying attention to details. Therefore, leading a positive customer service culture coincides with my professional values of patient-centered care.
