Summary of Case
McDonald’s is scrambling trying to meet the changing needs of consumers. These include millennials who prefer healthier products, customers who complain about long wait times in the drive thru, and competitors who offer burgers made to order. In response McDonald’s has made a number of major changes. It is reducing the size of its menu to reduce the amount of preparation time. They have introduced a new kiosk where customers can build their own burger. In addition, McDonald’s has worked hard to reduce its turnover by increasing average employee age to the high 20s and implementing wage increases and more paid time off.
