Gender is an essential reflection of the economic development of every country. Gender is an effective strategy for analyzing how social power structures and norms influence the daily lives and opportunities available to diverse groups of ladies and men. Worldwide, most women live in poverty and are more likely to receive less basic education than men. With gender inequality, a country experiences reduced productivity and deteriorated development outcomes for the upcoming generation, making organizations less representative. Therefore, gender disparity is a drawback to the growth of the economy of any country.

One form of gender inequality affecting the economy is the gender pay gap. Discrimination against females happens due to low wage rates that hold men's and women's productivity constant. While women have gradually surged their presence in well-paying jobs that used to be dominated by men, including managerial and professional positions, females continue to have higher representation in lower-paying jobs relative to their workforce share, which can lead to gender differences in pay (Aragão, 2023). One theoretical model used to echo this gap effectively is the model-centred general equilibrium illustration of the United States economy. This model asserts that females are presumed to be more industrious in giving birth than males.
In the labor market, while males and females are evenly industrious, females acquire a small portion of their male counterpart's wage rate. Usually, wage inequality functions as a tax on women's labor supply. Since females work fewer hours than they can do without discrimination, an undesirable level impact on the per capita output occurs (Silva & Klasen, 2021).
