Sabbath is one of the commandments from God that emphasizes the need to rest in the Lord. Barbara Brown Taylor describes it as the first holy aspect in all creation. According to the scriptures, God made everything in the creation and referred to it as good. After he rested on the seventh day, he called it holy (Taylor, 2021). As such, human beings are invited every single day of the week to keep it holy. According to Jewish traditions, the time set aside for worship was from Friday sunset to Saturday evening. During the ancient time, early Christians began to recognize the day of Jesus’s resurrection as Sabbath. Therefore, Sabbath is a time that Christians set apart for the intention to rest and worship.
