However, the approach defaces public properties, leading to various ramifications. In response, cities have initiated graffiti removal teams to address the issue, leading to the criticism about the wastage of taxpayers’ money considering the persistence of this problem. However, although this team may appear a wasteful approach, it plays a significant role in protecting the aesthetic integrity of public properties and cities. It also disrupts the coded communication messages used by local groups. Gunts (2021) indicates that graffiti on business walls significantly discourages patrons from frequenting such places, negatively impacting the economic aspect of a community. As a result, allocating a budget for running the graffiti removal team serves a justifiable objective of maintaining order in a society. Otherwise, ignoring this aspect would translate to allowing lawlessness and the destruction of properties.
