A Post Trump Foreign Policy in the Biden Era

Coursework Instructions:

Trump was subject to withering criticism for his foreign policy. Most analysts agree that he did a lot of damage in four short years, but not all. That's why I have assigned the Yoo and Herman article (In a Second Term, Trump Could Build on Foreign Policy Successes) (Links to an external site.) to give you an example of what his supporters were hoping for in a second term. Of course, he lost the election - which is why you have two readings this week.
The world is on fire and looking to the U.S. for leadership, but can President Biden rebuild both the trust and prestige this country had once long held in its foreign policy? That's the subject of this week's second online reading, Does Biden's 'Normal' Foreign Policy Need a Dash of Trump? (Links to an external site.), by Nahal Toosi.
Which one do you agree with, and why? I'm not asking here whether you wish Trump had been re-elected. Rather I'm asking whether you have a preference between the two styles of foreign policy, Trump or Biden's?

The Nitty-Gritty Specifics
FIRST, in no less than a full paragraph (5-7 sentences), address one or more of the questions above.
SECOND, you must respond to at least one of your classmates in a thoughtful paragraph (4-5 sentences).
classmate response :
"Trump's foreign policy sparked a lot of controversy, for weakening the US's relationships with its allies and withdrawing support from international organizations. I agree with Trump that China is the biggest threat to the US and to the rest of the world, and agreements such as the Paris accords do seem rather pointless when China accounts for the largest amount of climate pollution. Withdrawal of support for WHO was also controversial, but given the Chinese influence over WHO it doesn't seem unjustified. Biden's foreign policy has yet to be seen, but it is likely that he will attempt to rebuild relationships with US's allies. Biden is willing to work with other nations to come to mutual agreements compared to Trump's arbitrary actions based on his perceived national interest. It's difficult to say which foreign policy is better given that Biden's presidency is still in infancy."

I agree with Toosi’s view point that Donald Trump, caused fractured relations with U.S. allies, and this will affect Biden’s ability to promote his foreign policy agenda. President Donald Trump's foreign policy seemed to target fighting with allies such as Angela Merkel’s German than defending US positions against traditional adversaries. It appeared that the U.S. was reasserting itself on the global stage without necessarily negotiating. However, it also appeared read that Trump could not be trusted by allies and he was prone to break agreements. Trump’s foreign policy was based on the idea of American sovereignty or what he called America first and Trump preferred bilateralism over multilateralism, and his confrontation style
Yoo and Herman argued that the Trump Doctrine emphasized American sovereignty and was skeptical of international organizations such as the UN, which focuses ...
