A commonly used statement is SELECT, which is a DQL that retrieves a row or rows from a database and facilitates the selection of the row or rows and columns from one or different tables in a SQL Server (Microsoft, 2021). This paper differentiates among different types of SQL Server statements such as SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE, and provides a scenario in which use of each would be appropriate.
