The different security guidelines put forward are used to ensure that the company or the organization are kept safe from any possible threat that might occur at any point in time. The guidelines are mainly used to ensure that all the property and other resources situated in the organization are appropriately used (Abdulghani & Konstantas, 2019). Therefore to ensure that there is maximum security in the organization, there are a set of legal procedures which must be followed to the letter.
The following are the different guidelines that should be implemented and followed by all the staff members working in the organization, whether full time or on a contract.
Physical Access
* All the staff members from different departments in the organization are issued with badges which are to be only used by them.
* In case an employee tries to share the issued badge, then he or she is subjected to facing the already put in place disciplinary action, and in some instances, the organization management might decide to terminate them from their jobs.
* When the employee accidentally loosed the issued badge, then he or she is required to report to the appropriate supervisor with immediate effect.
Logon Access
* The organization has put in place an IT help desk whereby in case the employee requires permission to other departments; then he can use this platform.
* The IT system has developed both unique usernames and strong passwords, which are mainly intended to provide protection in accessing the company-owned IT resources and other services.
* The organization's IT management team is required to ensure that the system is updated on a regular basis and the password that is put in place is changed after a specified period of time.
Appropriate Usage
* The organization-owned property is mainly prohibited from being shared by one person to another, including people working in different departments. Such appliances include laptops, computers, and mobile phones.
* If there is an issue in troubleshooting, the employee should seek help from the organization's IT to help the team and not from other personnel outside the organization (Ringsberg & Cole, 2020).
* There is a strict restriction when it comes to sharing data from the organization, mainly because the data breach can primarily impact the customers negatively.
