Ghencea and Geiger (2010) argue that databases are created and specially designed to meet the demands of clients. This owes to the fact that Vincent, Stergiou, and Katz (n.d) reveal that database are used as a catalyst for most applications because they provide access and accessibility to data. Critical to the discussion is the fact that queries and reports are meant to maximize client’s satisfaction on a database. As evidenced, Gelego and Lee (2012) reveal that queries and reports of a database could be used for data mining, optimization, dataset administration applications, and database maintenance. It follows that practitioners and scholars in technology should understand how to use queries and reports of database management systems in order to maximize the functionality of databases. It is why the upcoming paragraphs discuss queries and reports using practical example with the Oracle database 11g express edition and SQL developer.
To begin with, the database was already set up earlier implying the discussion will skip to generating reports using Oracle database 11g express edition and SQL developer. According to Oracle(2017), the select command could be used to generate reports. Specifically, reports could be generated by creating an SQL statement and clicking run report in order to produce a report. For instance, the following SQL statement was used to generate a report of the current inventory status of books and CDs from the database.

The output in figure 2 below depicts the report generated from the statement.

A report of the Sales Transactions List was generated using the procedure above, but with a different SQL statement. The statement and report generated from the statement are depicted in figure three and four below.
Figure SEQ Figure \* ARABIC 3: Sales Transactions List
Figure SEQ Figure \* ARABIC 4: Report of the Sales Transaction List
The monthly profit report and SQL statements are depicted in figure 4 and 5 below. Critical to the discussion is the fact that an additional column for the monthly profit statement was added to the sales inventory table using appropriate statements before the report was generated.
