Unfortunately, organized crimes as an industry have contributed to the economic status and political will of the few. Some industries have thrived in economic participation because of the demand for organized crimes like smuggling of goods and illegal trades. However, the prosperity of such illegal industries is a threat to social security and the vulnerability of the marginalized. Underprivileged people are most likely to be left behind by the bosses of organized crimes (Kelly, 1999). Therefore, the authority does not cut the misdeeds to their roots. Also, these crimes may endanger public safety because some of these crimes would target innocent lives. For instance, child trafficking takes or kidnaps street children, orphans, or any children alone in the street (Rafferty, 2007). The black market for organs also targets healthy and financially unstable individuals to offer their organs in exchange for a large sum of money (Bowden, 2013). These instances pose unwanted fear on the public as well as the authority.
Over the years, the authorities and governments have been strategizing on high rated crimes in their areas. They create ordinances, implement preventive rules, and even extend police authorities to duties that will combat and avoid crimes from happening (Visher, & Weisburd, 1997). However, if organized crimes that pose legal methods continue to operate, strategizing may need some innovation. It means that not only do the authorities need to capture the small-time criminals. They have to put a stop to the very root of the crime.
