St. Augustine discusses his journey toward God in his book “Confessions.” He lays out his story and looks into his dilemmas as he grows up. He accepts his authenticity and reveals that he is a sinner. St. Augustine clarifies that in his childhood, he also committed sins and that he was aware of his wrongdoings, and at the same time, he loved it. However, as he grew up, his perceptions in life gradually changed, evident in this statement. ”I intend to remind myself of my past foulness and carnal corruptions, not because I love them but so that I may love you, my God. It is from a love of your love that I make my act of recollection.” (p. 24)
