Hello, my name is xxxx, and this is a PowerPoint presentation over the theoretical framework to support evidence-based practice. This presentation, we'll discuss the theory of caring and healing by Kristen Swanson and how the family nurse practitioner can use it in the care of patients with a diagnosis of hypertension to support them in patient-centered care for their lifestyle and choices and disease management. Evidence-based practice helps providers improve the overall quality of patient care while increasing the confidence in decision-making in regards to nursing practice. By using theories as the framework for evidence-based practice, providers can help solve patient care issues by implementing well researched data. Out to Wally et al 2020. Kristen Swanson, develop the middle range theory of caring or the theory of caring and healing by studying women who miscarried and also carried her caregivers in the neonatal unit, including parents and at-risk mothers. In doing so, she created the five carrying processes. The first process is maintaining belief. This is having faith in others and also instilling the commitment to serve in nurses. The second process is knowing. This is the understanding that others lives have meaning. Focusing on the patient to understand their lives lived reality better. The third process is being width, is having an emotional presence, letting the patient know they matter and they are appreciated. Also physical presence and availability. The fourth process is doing for. In this process, the nurses behavior preserves the patient's wholeness, comforting, anticipating, protecting, maintaining dignity and confidentiality. Listening, teaching, coaching, supporting, guiding, validating, and providing feedback. The fifth and final process is enabling. The nurse practitioner facilitates a patient's capacity for providing education and information while being present and assisting behaviors. Welch and Foreigner 2018. By implementing this theory in patient care, patients feel valued and appreciated. By following patient-centered care, the patient informs the nurse just as much as the nurse and forms the patient, allowing the patient to be engaged in their care and lifestyle decisions. Patient engagement puts the patient in charge of their care. The goal is that they make an informed decision about their health care and lifestyle. They received the tools to make these decisions from the provider carrying for them. But it is up to the patient to take the actions needed to support their choices. Welch and 400 2018. Hypertension is considered blood pressure higher than average. Some providers classify hypertension as blood pressure greater than 140/90, while others classify it as higher than one-thirty over 80. Hypertension puts an individual at risk for heart attack and stroke. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 2022. Approximately 30% of men and 28% of women in the US have hypertension. Of those, only 75% are being treated with medications to help control their blood pressure. With only 50% having controlled blood pressure, hypertension rates have plateaued and are expected to increase due to obesity, obesity and the aging population. The National Health and Nutrition study monitors the current trends in the US. Annually, deaths due to hypertension account for 10.4 million globally. This international society, the International Society of Hypertension, updates guidelines regularly, but there remains a lack of awareness, treatment, and control. Make a t 2022. Watson's theory uses the belief that each individual is uniquely manifested through thoughts, behaviors, life experiences, and feelings. Using maintaining beliefs, knowing, being with, doing for an enabling process. A nurse practitioner can help guide patients to control their hypertension with lifestyle and medication management. In the maintaining belief process, they obtain the fundamental premise that they can change and overcome obstacles associated with the disease. They must confront these obstacles and learn to understand the disease entirely. In the annoying process, the nurse practitioner must understand the patient's life and the patient's lack of information about the disease and treatments, including daily living and medications. The provider must share critical information regarding the treatment to get the patient the most informed information to make decisions. In being processed. The provider patient relationship transforms into a trusting relationship. The patient, I can share feelings due to the trust generated with the NP. They can share their fears about the disease process, motivating them to learn more about the disease. Alvarez now char, Val de Mora, sin Bria and pin a pin. In the doing for process. All individuals cope with diseases differently. They may seek support from friends or family or keep their feelings to themselves. They must take control and do what they feel is best for them. But look to friends and family for support in changing their lifestyle. In the enabling process, self-care actions may be initiated based on the opinion of disease and treatment. It is up to the patient to use the information provided and decide what life, what works for their lifestyle. The result of using this theory is informed respect, learning and sharing a feelings and fears which helps the patient advanced in their treatment control and plan. Alvarez and Azar, the other mirror, Sabrina pinion up into 2020. As we can see, applying theory to evidence-based practice helps the nurse practitioner help the patient providing patient-centered care of by implementing Swanson theory of caring and healing can help the patient make the best informed decisions regarding the treatment and lifestyle changes they feel they can make with the assistance of the nurse practitioner, helping to manage their care best and improve their health outcomes. Thank you for the beautiful piece of presentation on the theoretical framework in support of evidence-based practice. I found your discussion quite informative and enjoyable to read. Incorporating the theory of caring and healing in your discussion by Kristen Swanson is significant in care centered on patients with hypertension. I concur that implementing this theory in treating patients can offer a well-researched and structured approach to enhance healthcare results. Swanson created five processes of caring which are fundamental elements of providing holistic care that considers the patient's emotional, mental, and physical well-being. You have indicated the processes as maintaining belief, knowing, being with, doing for, and enabling. The ideology of emphasizing the lived reality of the patient under care can be helpful to nurses in understanding and knowing the patients better and initiating a caring approach centered on the patient (Martensson et al., 2020).
Moreover, I appreciate the focus you ...
