Fitness and Nutrition: Guide to Men's Health

Coursework Instructions:

Health Class
Topic: Fitness and Nutrition
Prompt from the Professor:
Chapter 5 examines exercise, fitness, the major components of fitness, exercise principles, heart rate, exercise benefits, and nutritional facts.
For this assignment I want you to follow the instructions below and answer the three questions in the steps below.
Step #1: Read Chapter 5 of the book called "Harvard Medical School Guide to Men's Health" by Harvey Simon.
Step #2: Read the Chapter 5 Notes that I provided you in the PDF titled "Chapter 5 Notes on Fitness and Nutrition"
Step #3: Below are three questions that I want you to answer based on what you read in Chapter 5 and the Chapter 5 notes. For each question below answer it with at least one paragraph response in your own words. The first two questions you can probably answer them in one page. However, the third question will probably require you to write one full page to answer it.
Question #1): Why is water so crucial to the human body? Be specific with your answer by stating more than one reason. Answer it by stating multiple reasons why water is so crucial to the human body.
Question #2): What is the difference between complete and incomplete proteins?
Question #3): Now, that you know about fitness and nutrition I want you to outline a regular fitness exercise program or routine for yourself as a male. Be as detailed as possible. For example, think of it as a work plan that you will follow in a week from Monday through Sunday. For instance, if you go to the gym you most likely have some kind of routine that you follow to exercise your upper body like your chest and arms as well as your legs on other days. If you go hiking that can be part of your workout routine for a specific day. Make sure to include a rest day or two in your exercise program. I would recommend you at least do a five to a six-day workout routine. For example, five days can be indoor workouts and one day can be outdoor workouts doing exercise from walking, running, and or hiking.
Basically, I want you to be specific in writing and or listing what type of exercises you would be doing for your upper body like chest, back, shoulders, and triceps, and your lower body like abs, legs, calves, and quadriceps along with the number of sets and repetitions. You do not need to write about each of the upper and lower body exercises that I mentioned in the prior sentence but I listed them many of them to give you an idea of what to write in your workout routine. For example, you can state that on Monday you will follow a certain workout plan by listing the exercises with reps and repetitions, then for Tuesday you will write the exercises you did for that day and so for each day of the week but do not forget to include a rest day.

Question 1
Indeed, water is an essential nutrient to the human body for various reasons. People require water since it is necessary for many bodily functions. Water helps in digesting food since it aids in breaking food into smaller particles for easier absorption (Simon, n.d.). Water also helps excrete microorganisms, waste, and toxins through urine and sweat. Additionally, water assists in transporting oxygen and nutrients to body cells and carbon dioxide and water from the cells (Simon, n.d.). Furthermore, water aids in preventing or managing constipation since it softens stool and enhances bowel movements. Water is also crucial because it protects joints, tissues, and organs, helps balance the heartbeat, prevents dehydration, and controls body temperature (Simon, n.d.). Physically active individuals and those living in high temperatures significantly need water to regulate body temperatures since they lose more water through sweat.
Question 2
Simon (n.d.) explained that people should acquire the nine essential amino acids from food since the body cannot produce them. Complete proteins have all the essential amino acids, while incomplete proteins have varying amounts of some essential amino acids but miss one or more (Simon, n.d). Nevertheless, a combination of incomplete proteins can make complete proteins. For instance, an incomplete protein with a specific missing essential amino acid, like lysine or tryptophan, can be combined with another incomplete protein with that particular essential amino acid. Additionally, complete proteins are only available in soy products and animal foods, whereas incomplete proteins are a...
