Critical thinking employs objective examination and analysis of an issue to help make a judgment. A critical thinker actively and impartially conceptualizes, synthesizes, evaluates, and applies data or information gathered to make informed decision (Papathanasiou et al., 2014). On its part, evidence-based practice (EBP) is application of occupational practices grounded on scientific research. For example, in nursing, evidence-based practice involves a careful application of data in clinical practice using evidence from credible studies to make decisions that promote patient outcomes (Profetto-McGrath, 2005).
