In particular, it was fascinating to study the cardiorespiratory system. The book Physical Fitness and the Christian: Exercising Stewardship by Pamela Diehl and Delyte Morris has crucial lessons about how individuals can improve their health so that they can prolong their lifespan and serve God. In reality, almost everyone would wish to have a longer and healthier life. The paper reflects on crucial lessons that I have obtained from the course about cardiorespiratory health.
Dr. John Campbell’s, a retired nurse teacher from England, YouTube channel has enabled me to understand the anatomy of the heart. Besides, the heart is the primary organ comprised of the cardiorespiratory system. Others include the blood, arteries, or vessels. The main purpose of the heart is to pump blood to all parts of the body. Specifically, oxygenated blood leaves the left ventricle of the heart and reaches all organs, muscles, and tissues through blood vessels. Deoxygenated blood enters the right ventricle of the heart and is taken to the lungs to be oxygenated (Campbell, 2015). On that note, this process keeps repeating itself. When the blood is pumped to distinct parts of the body, it carries nutrients. For a person to improve his or her cardiorespiratory system, the focus should be on ensuring that the heart and blood vessels are functioning optimally.
Chapter three of the book depicts that people have the responsibility to take care of their bodies and increase their lifespan. Studies have shown that numerous health threats are associated with poor lifestyles. In that light, the first way to promote an individuals’ cardiorespiratory system is to eat healthily. I usually avoid eating junk food and sugary beverages since they increase the amount of calories in my body, which might contribute to obesity or overweight. I have learned that Godly body...
