Benefits of Stakeholder Support in Change Initiatives
The ever-changing dynamics in the business landscape have forced organizations to instigate effective strategies that would ensure not only their survival but would also position them better in the market. However, organizational change is not easily implemented because the various stakeholders are usually resistant to the change initiatives for multiple reasons. For instance, members of the hospital billing department may be against incorporating digital and computerized means of performing their tasks for fear of losing their jobs. Also, some members of the hospital board of management may decline to the implementation of the change proposal projects because of the high costs in the short term (Häggroth, 2013). Nonetheless, for any change proposal project to be successfully and effectively implemented it has to have the backing and support of the internal and external stakeholders.
From the healthcare perspective, internal stakeholders include the medical providers and the staff members in the various departments.
