The aim of designing the SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) in 1990 was to read and write structured data in all devices connected to a network. The Simple Network Management Protocol is a remarkable feature found in detached software, such as the LAN Viewer. Research suggests that the Simple Network Management Protocol is outstanding because of the rich and credible information it provides to devices on the network (Scarpati, 2021). Some of the vital information provided by the SNMP protocol includes CPU usage, available RAM, device temperature, etc. Studies illustrate that there are three discrete versions of the SNMP protocol, namely SNMPv1 (original), SNMPv2, and SNMPv3 (“Versions of SNMP,” 2003).
