A report by Transparency Market Research (2018) stated that the daily volume of generated construction waste will nearly double to 2.2 billion tons by the year 2025. The approach to demolish existing buildings (including partial demolition in building renovation projects) and its relationship with generating construction waste, as well as suggestions for material recycling and reuse, to reduce waste generation in building demolition construction projects, so as to effectively conserve energy and protect the environment, could significantly reduce overall construction cost.

Building and construction have been a common factor and economic activity in the United States of America. Due to improved technology and industrialization, America has experienced several constructions and building activities in the region. Due to the increased buildings, there has been witnessing the destruction of several properties to provide adequate space for newly constructed premises. Cherry Company is one of the known companies in construction and recycling services (Zhang, Gu, F & Zhang, 2019). During the demolition portion of a typical construction renovation project, Cherry Companies recycle several aspects such as concrete and asphalt and several tons of steel. According to the research conducted, Cherry recycles more than two million tons of concrete and asphalt.
In most construction and renovation sites, several materials are often being recycled. The recycled materials include the concretes and the asphalt shingles and tires. Besides, the steel is also recycled in the construction process to make other useful substances necessary during building. According to Cherry Company's report, asphalt tires are the least recycled material during the demolition and construction of new properties. Despite the recycling activities, the percentage of recycled properties is very low, representing a great loss caused by the demolition of earlier constructed properties. For instance, Cherry Company registers around 24% of the total quality of products used to construct the demolished structures. The percentage of the recoveries resulting from the recycling of the materials is too low, indicating the losses incurred during demolition. The company, however, incurs additional costs in running their machines to reform the materials and refurbish them into the required state that is essential for construction. The cost also involves the machines' maintenance since demolition entails more destruction to the technology being used to carry it out.
Several demolition activities have been conducted in the past three years, which entails demolition and wrecking in the United States industry trends. However, the demolition that did not involve recycling was four. The four demolitions did not entail the recycling of materials and waste products. Instead, the company sent the waste products into landfills to provide space for the new construction to take place. Identification of recyclable materials can easily be identified by using experience on what the company had conducted (Yu, T, Lin, F, Kao, Chao & Yu, 2019). The company has conducted several practices on carrying out recycling services to effectively identify whether the current condition of the materials on the demolition sites can enhance recycling. Therefore, experience has played a significant role in ensuring that Cherry Company identifies the materials that can effectively be recycled.
