These are the midterm question of Business Analytics and Intelligence. Please follow the instructions.
This HW will use Tableau.
Data Analysis (20 points each to total 40 Points):
Download the file: CreditRisk.xlsx. Context: The data set has 425 cases and 15 variables pertaining to past and current customers who have borrowed from a bank for various reasons. The data set contains customer-related information such as financial standing, reason for the loan, employment, demographic information, and the outcome or dependent variable for credit standing, classifying each case as good or bad based on the institution’s past experience.
Similar to Carvana’s “IsBadBuy” problem in which the concern was the cost of purchasing a vehicle that is a “loser”, your concern here is understanding the characteristics that might lead to a customer being high risk or “Bad” to a bank. This variable is referred to as “Credit Standing” in the data.
1) Use Tableau to respond to the following (20 Points):
a. What percent of the customers are “Bad”?
b. Provide five visuals that examine the relationship between the possible independent variables and Credit Standing. The visuals do not necessarily have to be graphs but can also include tables. Paste a screenshot of the visuals below.
2) Articulate your findings. In other words, if you were describing these visuals to bank executives, what did you find and why does it matter? What is the relationship between the variables you chose and Credit Standing, if any? Do certain factors seem to lead to a higher likelihood of the customer having “Bad” Credit Standing? Are there any deficiencies with your analysis? (20 Points)
