Situation
In the current situation, the DeskJet printer is HP’s most successful product across the global market. As of 1990, the sales of the product had reached 600,000 units translating to $400,000. However, while sales have increased, the sales growth was tracked closely by inventory levels. As a result, two key problems should be addressed. The first problem is that some markets have more inventory than others, yet sales have continued to increase where there is no inventory. The second issue is that different managers have disagreed on how the inventory issue should be addressed to satisfy the current demand.
