Health Care Organizational Behavior Development and Governance
Introduction
Regional Health is a small physician practice situated in Williston, North Dakota, with 25,000 people (U.S. Census, 2017). Most of the consumers at Regional Health are between 50 and 75 years. A recent survey conducted by the Director of Regional Health to identify consumer needs revealed that health care users in the area wanted a patient-centered organization.
Project Goal
This project aims to move Regional Health from its current biomedical approach to health care to a patient-centered biopsychosocial approach that honors patients' values, needs, and preferences to forge strong and meaningful partnerships between clinicians and patients.

Organizational Assessment and Development Planning
Regional Health is a small physician practice serving the residents of Williston, North Dakota, for several years. Therefore, became a key area of change and the basis for a new health care service that involves patients and families at all levels of care, provides a caring work environment for all clinicians, incorporates methodical evaluation of health care service and feedback, augments the quality of the built environment, and integrates supportive information technology.
Plan for Strategic Change
Transforming Regional Health's healthcare system to concentrate on patient-centered care and better serve its community of residents will be an intricate endeavor requiring extensive, multi-pronged efforts at all levels of the organization, incorporating a patient-centered approach amidst conflicting technical and institutional demands (Tahara & Green, 2014). The institutional theory can help explain the range of accepted organizational practices and templates arising from the diverse range of institutional pressures and logic. There have been growing calls for health systems to rethink their biomedical approach to health care and move towards patient-centered, culturally sensitive health care to improve clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction levels, cost-effectiveness, work environment, and organizational reputation.
This health care trend is an exogenous institutional force that will drive the organizational change effort and ensure that Direct Health provides health care services for public benefit and operates under a business-driven logic of clinical and financial efficiency (Farnsworth & Shay, 2014). The institutional theory helpe...
