1 I have had Diabetes for many years and now have become impotent as a result of the complications of the disease. I have tried everything, but nothing seems to help. I am really worried that my marriage is going to fall apart. Explain and cite evidence.
It is common for individuals with Diabetes to experience sexual dysfunction, including erectile dysfunction (ED), due to complications related to the disease. Diabetes affects the nerves and blood vessels necessary for healthy sexual function and can lead to hormonal imbalances contributing to ED (American Diabetes Association, 2021).
Several treatment options are available for ED, including medications such as sildenafil, tadalafil, and vardenafil, as well as penile injections, vacuum devices, and penile implants. Communicating with a healthcare provider is important to determine the best treatment option. Addressing any underlying factors contributing to ED, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and smoking is also essential. Lifestyle changes such as improving diet, exercising regularly, and quitting smoking can help to improve overall health and potentially improve sexual function. Additionally, it may be helpful to explore alternative methods of sexual intimacy and communication with the partner. It can include non-penetrative sexual activities, such as massage or oral sex, and open communication about sexual desires and needs.
It is understandable to feel worried about the impact of ED on marriage. Still, it is important to remember that sexual intimacy is just one aspect of a healthy and fulfilling relationship. Open communication and a willingness to explore alternative forms of intimacy can help to maintain a strong and supportive partnership. Couples can explore many alternative forms of intimacy aside from sexual intercourse. Some examples include sensual touch like hugging, cuddling, holding hands, or giving each other massages. It can also be emotional intimacy, which involves sharing thoughts, feelings, and experiences or spending time together doing things that both enjoy can help to strengthen the connection. It can include walking, watching a movie, or cooking a meal together. Remember, there is no “right” way to be intimate; the most important is finding ways to connect and show love and affection in ways that work for the couple.
Therefore, a man may have erectile dysfunction, which is not a factor in a failed marriage. There are several options available that couples can explore to strengthen their relationships.
2 What is the best position for a man and woman to reach orgasm? Explain and cite evidence.
There is no one “best” sexual position for a man and woman to reach orgasm, as sexual preferences and experiences vary from person to person. Different positions can offer different stimulation and intensities; what works best for one couple may not work for another. However, some positions may be more likely to result in orgasm for some individuals.
Krejčová et al. (2020) surveyed heterosexual couples about their preferred sexual positions. They found that the “missionary” position (with the man on top and the woman on ...
