The diversification of Amazon through Amazon element and Amazon Go was appropriate based on its dynamic capabilities and assets. Amazon focused on conveying its products and services in a way that would change consumer’s experience in purchasing products daily with the best customer experience (Baker- Brunnbauer, n.d). The company had a wide range of advantages in the supply chain, solid R&D teams, and client electricity. Therefore, Amazon will have an opportunity of lifting its disconnected offline broadening. Besides, the company would leverage its operations using the knowledge about the weaknesses and qualities of the close rivals.
The decision of Amazon to venture into the offline market without having prior knowledge of brick-and-motor would be less secure. Besides, the company would face challenges and risks as Amazon Go focuses on the customers and employees. Following a solid R&D strategy, Amazon would recoup its expansion to attain the core set objectives (Kittilaksanawong & Karp, 2017). However, Amazon will have loyal customers, which would be an advantage of using its position to overcome the underlying challenges. Notably, the company will have an opportunity of attracting loyal customers and have a competitive edge over close rivals by lowering its membership cost.
