Why I Want to Be in the United States Army
Most guys my age dream of becoming businessmen, traders, athletes, and more. Many people are surprised when they find out that I want to become a commissioned officer right out of high school.
Honestly, it was my older brother who inspired me to go to army school, as he himself is an enlisted soldier. After his first stint, he came home full of incredible stories that convinced me that this was a career I could truly grow in. He talked about how an army officer should be a great leader, recruiting and managing people in his unit well. He also said that personal development was inevitable, as you will go through so many “litmus tests” to prove your character and worth. Seeing him become a kinder, more responsible person throughout his training made me want to join the army and become like him.
