Why I Look Up to Correctional Officers and Want to Be One of Them Someday
Everyone has that one job that they aspire to have someday. The most dedicated people spend their academic years preparing for it. They align all of their college and university choices with it. They even try to get on-the-job experience even before graduating, if it is possible for their chosen work.
For me, that dream job is to be a correctional officer. After high school, I want to apply for a job in a correctional facility and eventually find my way around the criminal justice field.

Let me tell you the story of my uncle, who was jailed for a couple of years for a minor offense. Being a first-time inmate, he was terrified of being sent to jail because of the many horror stories and movies we’ve watched about physical violence in prison. But in all of my visits to him before his release, he never had significant experiences of this.
