Before we begin to contemplate what is beauty and what is beauty to me, it is best to see it through objective and academic lenses.
Meaning of Beauty
According to the dictionary, the quality of a thing or person that exudes or induces pleasure or an aesthetic sense in the mind of a beholder.
This is the simplest definition of true beauty. The description of elated feeling or sense of pleasure when experiencing something beautiful through either or all of the senses.
Think of it from examples of daily life: Seeing a flower, a laughing kid, or a smiling face makes us aware that that thing is beautiful. The same goes for countless other things that we can see or get to know through our perceptual experience.

That’s why confidence is more about being comfortable and owning your own skin. It is the power to say no to someone or something when it needs to be turned down and to stand up for something or someone that needed to be backed up.
Another thing why confidence is beautiful is that it is highly contagious. It has the power to move someone or something. People with immense confidence can command a lot of love and respect from both friends and foes.
That’s why I mentioned confidence as the foremost beautiful thing.
Loyalty is Beautiful
Another thing that is cherished by both friends and foes is loyalty. In every social scenario, loyalty is considered to be the highest currency. A beautiful face can stand for a moment, but loyalty can stand the test of time.
In everyday social life, people rely on others to get from day one to day two. Every social contract is backed by loyalty. It is hard to rely on legal muscle alone to live peacefully.
That’s why, loyalty is beautiful, with all its negative and positive influences. A person can be of any color, creed, or culture and there could be as many opinions about his or her beauty. But if he or she has loyalty, it is hard for someone to be ugly or not beautiful when that one is also loyal.
This is the trait that I cherish and want to see in people to call them beautiful.
Compassion is Beautiful
In this world, there are a lot of issues. From hunger to pollution and climate change, meadows and pastures are getting barren and glaciers are melting at a quicker pace. The situation is getting very dire as the blue planet is quickly getting rid of its resources.
This is where compassion comes into the picture as b beauty plays its part.
We can rebuild this world through compassion. We can get rid of world hunger and pollution by generating compassion in our hearts. That’s why compassion and a beautiful soul are beautiful. It is because it has the power of moving the world and the mountains in it.
In our daily lives, this compassion can help us uplift others by lending a helping hand. For this and many more reasons, compassion is beautiful.
Healthy is Beautiful
The modern beauty standards are very skewed. Thin and slender bodies are considered beautiful even though they may be lacking necessary features and health requisites.
The current fashion industry is potentially appealing to only a small proportion of the population, due to the narrow scope of physical attractiveness. The same goes for men and women. The average person sees these standards with despair as they know in their hearts that cannot achieve those goals ever.
Against this definition of beauty, I believe healthy is beautiful. The goal in achieving that beauty should be of eating healthy and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. A healthy person is a beautiful person.
The result will speak for itself, especially in terms of physical and emotional well-being.
Apart from this, healthy relationships with family and friends are beautiful. Seeing someone smile because you enter the room; a mischievous smile upon sharing a joke with a friend; or sharing a meal with family members over a holiday; all these things indicate healthy relationships.
That’s the epitome of real beauty to me. This is what beauty stands for me.
Everything is Beautiful
There is no consensus among people when it comes to the practicality of the concept of beauty. It starts from a family or a tribe to the whole of humanity as we come to see similarities among each other.
The same goes for everything, anything in the universe – and beyond.
It is not what we see but how we see it that makes it beautiful for us. That’s why beauty contests like child beauty pageants are revered by everyone.
